Independent, The (London) - Elan takes legal action over Skelaxin deal
ELAN, THE stricken Irish drug maker, said it is taking legal action against King Pharmaceuticals to force the US company to complete its $850m purchase of Elan’s Skelaxin muscle relaxant. The deal, a vital part of a disposal programme Elan needs to shore up its finances, has been threatened by a US Federal Trade Commission inquiry.
